Rippe Associates specializes in commercial kitchens and cafeterias. We provide foodservice designs nationwide for hospitals, colleges, schools, casinos, corporations, restaurants, correctional facilities and military bases.

We occasionally have openings for experienced Equipment Specialists, Project Managers and CAD/Revit Technicians with a unique combination of experience. Our staff has backgrounds in foodservice operations and management, millwork and/or construction, equipment specification/purchasing, architecture, project management and dietetics.

Project Managers and CAD Technicians enjoy the opportunity to prepare a complete set of project drawings including mechanical and electrical requirements. Similarly, our Equipment Specialists understand food production, retail merchandising, and foodservice operations processes. Many have worked in or managed a commercial kitchen.

Designer/Drafter REVIT Architecture Experience

We are looking for a motivated Revit drafter with great attention to detail.

We design kitchens, cafeterias, restaurants, and coffee shops for commercial facilities including corporate offices, hospitals, colleges, casinos, correctional facilities, and more. 

Candidates for this position must possess demonstrated proficiency using current versions of Revit Architecture. You will be preparing complete sets of drawings including overall plans, elevations, sections, and mechanical and electrical details. Previous exposure to the food service industry and functionality of restaurant, cafeteria design is a plus, however, we will train the right candidate for our industry. 

This position requires you to have good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as on a team.  With experience, the work includes coordination with architects, engineers and code officials, and some travel.

A minimum of 2 years Revit training and 1+ years of architectural drafting experience is required. Family building experience preferred. 

A Revit test will be given at interview.

Equipment Specialist

Tired of working in the kitchen?

We are one of only a few firms in the U.S. who exclusively specialize in foodservice design and consulting of commercial kitchens and cafeterias. Our clients are large facilities such as corporate offices, hospitals, colleges/K-12, casinos/hospitality, and corrections nationwide.

We are looking for a foodservice equipment specialist. This position researches equipment, works with our design project managers, and meets with manufacturers to assist with evaluation and selection of equipment.

We use this knowledge to make recommendations to our clients regarding what equipment to use for their menu and what the cost would be to remodel facilities or build new. This job includes creation of budgets, writing specifications for equipment, reviewing plans and more. It requires a solid understanding of the inner workings of kitchens that are producing large quantities of food.

The candidate should be familiar various methods of cooking and in using combi and convection ovens, blast chillers, tilting fry pans and salamanders, just to name a few. Your knowledge determines the proper placement of equipment in our designs to ultimately increase our client’s efficiency. If you have experience working in, or managing a commercial kitchen and are looking for a change, this may be the job for you.

The candidate should possess good writing and typing skills; good follow-up and coordination skills; and have experience working in a kitchen with commercial/institutional foodservice equipment.

Associate’s degree from a two-year college or technical school and two years of experience in food service are required.

Operations Project Manager

Love Foodservice but Ready for a Career Change?

We have a unique opportunity for someone with a background in foodservice operations who wants to exchange those challenges for new ones.

Rippe Associates designs commercial kitchens for colleges and hospitals across the country. We believe that we excel because we hire people who have foodservice operations experience. We are looking for a candidate to join us as an Operations Project Manager.

The ideal candidate should possess excellent customer service skills that promote client (owners/architects) relationships.  Professionalism is key in your work practices, communication style, and appearance. You should be a problem solver who works well with teams and can flex with constant changes. Managing project schedules can be a challenge.

An operations project manager works with a principal designer, coordinating project operational design criteria and equipment selection. They assist with project management, work schedules, and project meetings, both internal and external. They assist with equipment specifications, review facilities, and develop recommendations in a narrative report. The operations project manager is active in our clients’ professional organizations to help develop and maintain customer relationships.

We require a 4-year degree in a foodservice related field, and 4 years of foodservice experience.  It is also helpful if you can read and interpret architectural plans/drawings.
